“氢氟烃类灭火剂（英文版）”介绍
Hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) extinguishing agents are a class of compounds that have emerged as alternatives to traditional chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) and hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) agents, which were phased out due to their ozone-depleting potential under the Montreal Protocol. These agents do not deplete the ozone layer and thus are considered environmentally friendly for use in fire suppression systems.
HFC agents work by disrupting the exothermic chemical reactions that feed fires, effectively smothering it. They accomplish this without leaving harmful residues or producing toxic byproducts, unlike some other extinguishing agents that can damage electronic equipment or pose health risks. Additionally, HFCs are typically non-corrosive, making them suitable for sensitive environments such as data centers, telecommunication facilities, and aircraft.
Despite their eco-friendliness compared to older CFC and HCFC agents, there is ongoing debate regarding the global warming potential of HFCs. As a result, research is ongoing to develop even more sustainable alternatives that maintain the effectiveness of HFC agents in fire suppression while minimizing their environmental impact, particularly with respect to climate change.
